Accounts Audit Senior

We are currently recruiting for an Accounts Audit Senior. The successful candidate will join our exciting team as part of an expanding practice and will be based at our Newport office which is just off the M4.

Applicants will need to have gained previous experience within an accountancy practice and ideally be ACA/ACCA part or fully qualified or qualified by experience. We are seeking an individual who will be comfortable working in a client facing role and be involved in on site completion of audit assignments.

Role and responsibilities

  • Liaise with the Managers and Partners to ensure all work is completed to a review standard.
  • Working knowledge of UK GAAP (including FRS 102.)
  • Running quarterly VAT returns for clients.
  • Working with cloud-based Accountancy software and Excel.
  • Attending external Audits and working with clients at their premises.
  • Supervise the audit team, where necessary, providing leadership, control and guidance as required.
  • Ensure that high standards of quality, reporting and advice are maintained throughout all assignments.
  • Liaising with clients via the telephone and assisting with basic enquiries.
  • Meeting clients at their premises or in the office as and when required.
  • Identifying ways to maximize the relationship with clients and deliver added value.

The hours of this role will Monday-Friday 35 hours per week. There is no extensive travel required with this role, with the majority of clients located within South Wales.

Graduate / Trainee Accountant

This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious individual to join our trainee accounting team.

Given the nature of our client base, training will range from preparing small sets of accounts for small organisations to providing consultancy advice and services specifically to organisations with a turnover up to £100m.

The majority of our work is undertaken at our office in Newport or at client premises, most of which are located in South Wales.

Essential skills

  • Must have outstanding A level qualifications.
  • Achieved or be predicted a 2:1 or higher University degree preferably in accountancy, finance, or business-related subject.
  • Have a strong interest to pursue a career in accountancy

Desirable skills

  • You will be naturally confident, an excellent communicator and enjoy meeting and engaging with people and clients at all levels of seniority.
  • Your organisational skills will be exemplary with real attention to detail.
  • Have excellent IT and numeracy skills
