The Big Walk is back…

HSJ will be walking 26 miles in July to support Prostate Cymru, Wales’ leading prostate health charity.

The Big Walk is back – The annual event is organised by Prostate Cymru to raise much needed funds and awareness.

The big walk

We are taking part in The Big Walk to help raise awareness about prostate cancer and prostate diseases, which affects 1 in 8 men in Wales and 1 in 3 if there is a family history of the disease. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in Wales and the second most common cause of cancer death in UK men after lung cancer.

Prostate Cymru has no government funding and is separate to Prostate Cancer UK. All money raised stays in Wales, helping to ‘Save The Males In Wales’.

The charities key aims are:

  • Raising awareness
  • Support services for those suffering with prostate health and their families
  • Training & supporting medical professionals
  • Research & innovation projects
  • Improving medical equipment for treatments in Wales

If you would like to show your support & help raise funds for this great cause you can make a donation here. Every penny will be very much appreciated, so on behalf of Prostate Cymru thank you in advance.

You can also follow Team HSJ’s progress here, on our dedicated team page, where we’ll be posting regular updates on all of our walking activities and fundraising efforts.

Team HSJ are proud to support Prostate Cymru.
