South Wales-based accountancy firm, HSJ Accountants, has strengthened its Asset Management team with three key appointments.
Asset Management: HSJ Accountants has appointed Jason Thomas, Laura Stacey and Paul Curran to strengthen its Asset Management division.
Director, Paul Curran, who is a fully qualified financial planner with over 15 years industry experience, will head up the team and will be tasked with helping clients choose the right investments, ensure they have sufficient protection and plan for their retirement.
He will be assisted by fully qualified financial planner, Jason Thomas and Laura Stacey, who joins the team from HSJ’s Cardiff office as Office Manager.
Mr Thomas was previously employed as a financial planner working with a team of independent financial advisors in Blaenau Gwent. He has worked in the accountancy profession for a number of years and is an affiliate member of the ACCA. Mrs Stacey, a certified chartered accountant who has worked with HSJ for the past eight years, will be responsible for compliance and aligning the tax and accountancy services with those offered by HSJ Asset Management.
The new Asset Management structure follows the rebranding of the business in 2010 to better reflect its key service areas and is part of HSJ’s vision to improve the financial wellbeing of its clients.
Commenting on the newly strengthened team, Mr Curran said: “Our role will be to develop the asset management division of HSJ Accountants, making it possible for customers to access totally independent financial advice and services to ensure their business and personal finances are protected and managed efficiently.
“Laura has considerable experience of financial services having worked in a similar role within the retail banking industry. As a chartered accountant and with her knowledge of HSJ’s clients, she will be of great benefit to me in seamlessly integrating the existing services available to clients with those offered by HSJ Asset Management and help drive business forward for the benefit of the company as a whole.
“Jason has also worked in both financial services and accounting and together we will be able to suggest the most appropriate service or product to suit our clients’ specific needs.”
